Went to this. Weller got pelted with mud for his troubles. Anyway, it shows that protest works because we are still alive.

Great upload - many thanks ! Managed to spot myself in the crowd when the footage was shown on the Tube. Takes me back to my days of fully fledged Weller worship. Also tinged with some sadness - the niave youth that I was genuinely believed we were on the cusp of real change ... .. and then the miners strike happened and the working class fighting spirit seems to have been all but extinguished. On a lighter note - even I wouldn't wear a white cardi on a rainy/muddy day !

I was there too .... not quite 18 at the time on a YCND junket from Cannock. Quite a coup to see The Style Council live - particularly as they wouldn't officialy tour (at least not in the UK) for nearly another year. Also remember Weller introducing Annajoy David(?) at the TSC gig at Wolves Civic the following year - where she was virtually heckled off stage ... peace and love indeed.

I was there. I was 18 and down from West Yorkshire. I dug Weller [still do] I remember Weller dodging mud thrown at him[very festival for peace]. I can't remember too much else. Oh, hang on... Madness were very good. They played a good set.

Brilliant demo culminating at Brockwell Park - Hazel O'Connor 'I love the sound of breaking glass..' and Madness set was excellent... Damned didn't show up cos they got stuck in traffic - probably smacked out - so their twat devotee punks and skinhead looneys started throwing mud when Madness had an extra hour - which was the best :))). Sooo glad Damned didn't show.
