Easy Cranberry Chicken

1 cup of French Salad Dressing
1 package of onion soup mix
1 15 oz can of cranberry sauce

Chicken (I used a family pack of thighs in this video. If you are using chicken breasts you will need to adjust the cooking time).

Place the chicken in a 9 X 13 pan. Mix the rest of the ingredients and pour over the chicken. Bake in a 350-degree oven for 1 hour and 15 minutes or until a thermometer reads 170 degrees.

We make a real similar recipe, call it Russian chicken. Everything is exactly the same except we use a whole bottle of Russian salad dressing with the same ingredients you used. We love it!

I've made this recipe using boneless, skinless chicken breasts in the crockpot. Cook for several hours then shred chicken with a fork in the crockpot. Serve over rice. Delicious.

I made this chicken recipe yesterday. While baking, my whole house smelled so yummy. The chicken was so moist and delicious and the gravy made this most delicious. This is a keeper ❤. Thank you.

@Our Silver Moments - I have to share this with you! We lost my precious father-in-law in 2018 to cancer. I lost my Daddy in 2007, so my father-in-law became even more close then. I loved cooking with Darrell at the holidays, on Sundays after church & anytime. He made this wonderful cranberry chicken often for Sunday lunch & it was my job to make sides. I never knew how he made it until today, watching you prepare this! I’ve often regretted not asking for the recipe & he always told me “it’s just chicken, a can of cranberry sauce & dressing!” Now I know how to do it & the proportions & I can show our daughter how to make PawPaw’s cranberry chicken! Thank you so much for sharing & I’ve just subscribed to your channel. I can’t wait to watch more! ❤❤❤

Colleen, I hope you are doing better. Please take care of yourself and don’t feel pressure to make videos. I lost my father when I was 20 years old and the pain was overwhelming. It got better but for a while I didn’t want to get out of bed. It’s okay to not do anything although I agree that keeping busy can definitely help. I hope you realize that your subscribers sincerely care about you and will be here even if you take a well deserved break. I know how much work making these videos requires and can’t tell you how impressed I am. I am a Christian and it really helped thinking that my loved one was with God waiting on the other side for me. I used to watch NDE (near death experience)videos and they were very convincing and comforting. I’m not trying to force religion on you just expressing what really helped me during the most difficult time of my life. I held on because of my faith and family. I hope you believe me when I say that you are a friend to many of your subscribers and have provided companionship. It’s a wonderful community that you have created that encourages each other. Thank you and have a nice day!

Colleen I made this today, and wow! It is a winner. I used rotisserie chicken and baked it about 25 minutes. Thank you so much. Also, I know it has been such a difficult time for you, but you are the definition of grace under pressure. Kmow that many of your subscribers, including me, pray for you and hope you can find some serenity. Hugs from Indiana!

I’m glad to find someone else who makes her rice in the microwave. It IS foolproof. My method is as follows: 1 C of Uncle Ben’s long grain rice; ½ Tbsp olive oil; 1 chicken bouillon cube; 2 c boiling water. Toss the rice and oil in a casserole (mine is 65 years old. It was a shower gift.) Add the boiling water and chicken cube; cover with a lid and put it in the microwave on high for 5 minutes. Lower the heat to low and cook for 12 minutes. Delicious, even without a sauce. I’m going to try your chicken recipe when I have some friends over. Can’t stand too long these days, and this looks so simple. Glad I found you here in Toronto.

Hello Colleen, I'm Diane from Maryland and 79, will be 80 next month but most people guess my age about 58 or 59 but at this age of almost 80 and a widow don't feel like going to many ingredients for a meal and this sounds perfect and I can freeze some for later meals. Thank you for the rice method, quick . Here in Maryland continues to be hot 86, calling my grass crispy , it's been so dry, we need rain very badly here. Baltimore gas had rain but I'm on the eastern shore near Chesapeake Bay. My father was born in Quebec so proud I'm part Canadian. Thank you for another great recipe. 😊

Back in the mid 1970's my great aunt from Arizona came to visit us and wanted to fix Bachelor Chicken for us. We had never heard of Bachelor Chicken. (It is so easy that a bachelor could fix it to impress his date). It was this very recipe. She doubled it and used a whole chicken because she was feeding more people. Recipe has been around for a long time!

When I double the recipe, I used 1 can of whole cranberries & 1 can of the jellied. Recipe works great in the crock pot to not heat up the house during the hot summer months. I mix the soup mix, french dressing and cranberry sauce in my casserole dish and then dredge the chicken through it on both sides. This keeps all the sauce in 1 dish & cuts down on another dish to wash.
