Also for people saying they want the Sonic treatment for the film, y'all are not realizing how much money it would cost and how far away the movie would be from now if they changed it back to the much older designs, whether if they are revamped for the new tech or not. With the Sonic film, they mainly focused on just one CG animated character (or two if Tails was gonna look as horrid as Sonic), so it was easier for them to spend the money to change the designs to make them look more accurate to their game counterpart. Plus, that movie got delayed to 3 months so it wasn't as far from the original November release when the trailer released back in May. If they did this with Shrek 5, not only do they have to bring back the old models and reanimate them, but they would also have to make new models for characters like Zendaya Shrek (idc if her name is Felicia, she is Zendaya Shrek), as well as for any new characters in the movie and they would have to reanimate them. So they would almost be essentially starting over from scratch aside of the voice lines and that movie would be delayed to 2027, maybe even to 2028 depending on how long they take to reanimate the whole movie because people didn't like the new designs. As much as I find most of these designs to be really weird and it makes me wish for the old ones to return, I rather have a movie release next year on time rather than being delayed to a few years because they have to reanimate everything. Asides, we might get used to these new designs when we see more of the movie, similar to the Mario Movie. But yeah, the models are very fucking weird but hey, maybe the movie could actually be good if the entire thing isn't just about Shrek brainrot🤷
