When I was 21 I got a job driving a haul truck / lowboy. I had to load, deliver and unload a genie lift with 60 ft. Boom to a welding shop to repair the basket guardrail. I had Zero experience on one and did everything fine. Common sense and feeling the motion of the basket when one wheel would go through a pothole was all you'd need to know to go slow. Some people just aren't that smart.

Situational awareness is a must when operating these lifts. Environment, terrain, overhead obstacles, (power lines) and being familiar with the equipment and it's limitations is essential. Most of these accidents probably happen when someone rents one with little or no experience in operating them.

I was thinking about renting one of these to cut down some trees in my back yard. I think I will just pay someone else to do it.

The cop messing with the controls while the other guy was underneath was completely stupid. He obviously has no idea what he's doing

The inherent danger with aerial lift's is largely the person in the bucket . Complacency and failure to work within it's limitations are the cause of most accidents .

These are great machines, have owned a genie 45’ for years never had any issues. One of the best purchase I ever made. Common sense goes along way. Stupidity, no so much.

It's funny how people record these things, like they know what's about to happen🤣

Common sense is missing with every lift operator in this video....these lifts are not a toy, be careful and respect the equipment.

The second one is hilarious if you can find it with sound. His buddy asks ‘ are you alright’ ? He can’t stop laughing. Btw I’ve run these lots of time. 120 footers. You’ve got to be very careful

We just had one getting dropped off on a construction site. The lady parked her truck on the road and lowered the ramp to drive it off. But before she could an older Tahoe came about 65mph hit the ramp, then the basket and rolled about 5 times. Thank god nobody was seriously injured.

There’s a really funny one where a guy goes to the store to get beer on a sky genie. Really funny. Look it up.
