He’s real and gets really angry if you say anything about his public indecency of almost killing himself. If you wanna go see him hang out a Barton creek

I've actually watched this guy climb, he's actually got issues and is aggressive to climbers often. Haven't heard much about him in a while.

He could have at least used two Petzl connect adjust personal anchors. It’s still dumb but at least they are made out of dynamic ropes

This is the Dunning-Kruger effect in action.

Falling on static equipment (aka quickdraw chain) will snap your spine
That's why he says that you shouldn't do it

Hello Darwin? Boy oh boy do I have someone to tell you about! He might even earn your award!

Some teach what to do and other teach what NOT to do… taking short cuts is not something i would recommend in rock climbing. 🤷🏻‍♂️

How does that even work with the rings? I mean, you'd have to have a massive reach to get to rings multiple meters apart. In Saxony, we usually have around 4-5 meters in between rings.

Well, tbf, doing something dangerous like that is probably what he was going for 😂 How else can you replicate free soloing. If he fell, he would probably hit the ground, just like a real free soloer

The spirit of climbing is: "i do what i want, even If I die, its my life not yours"(climbing in yosemite was illegal back in the day). Sure its dumb but dont tell a climber how to climb, he will kindly tell you to get lost

Why not just use a long rope personal anchor with a quickdraw instead of a chain of quickdraws?

not to mention there's no stretch and fall factor would be high af

Is there a good source to learn about how to properly use clips/rope knots etc..? Im not a climber but ive been binging mountaineering videos and its super interesting to me.

I mean, using a short piece of rope with a locker would be cheaper and safer than what this guy is doing. Makes 0 sense.

Watched this then switched to Instagram right after, first thing in my discover page was a video for “10 plus uses of locking quick draws” thought that was REALLY ironic

I seen a video of those clips being tested more then one of those there durability is compromised and can break easily this dude is sent to God if he falls no doubt (btw a climber made the video)

So it shouldn't be done.

You could shorten this video to, you shouldn't climb without ropes, it's basically stupid.

Why could it be shortened to that? Simply, is what he doing offering more protection than completely without ropes? Even if it's every so slightly, it is still a yes. Could he have a better setup that is offering the temporary clip and go sort of climbing that he is doing, most likely.
However, it is still slightly more protection than without any sort of protection at all.
