I remember struggling with acne at 14, one day my dad showed me the video where you do makeup to cover acne, I'll never forget that moment, you have grown so much Cassandra, I liked the content back then but right now I love your content. You were and are that girl to me.

I feel like being "that girl" got a bit construed on social media. For me "that girl" is the girl who gets up in the morning even though she may not feel like it. Drinking an extra glass of water because she knows she doesn't hydrate enough. Using sunscreen a few times a week when she has never done it before. Reading a few pages of a book sometimes because she always wanted to have time to read..Being financially responsible and not wasting money on things she doesn't necessarily want or need..and so on... "that girl" could be those things we see on social media, but for most "that girl" is just a happier healthier version of our current self a small step at a time.

Here's to making "This Girl" an actual thing to combat "That Girl" style expectations ✌🏻

I was absolutely fascinated by "that girl" trend back in 2020 when it started to get popular. Then I met the skin and hair "shaming", cuz I'm not perfectly white and my hair is not straight. Also the marketing behind this trend is really fishy, it makes you buy overly expensive products that are not even narrowed for your problems, they just claim to be "green and clean".
I needed some time like a year or so to fit myself into that routine without hanging to the trends. For me "that girl" takes her supplements and medications on time, finds time every day to say to her favorite people that she loves them and walks as much as possible during her day. "That girl" always turn and learn, cuz she makes her own money and is a responsable buyer.

Love that you said “aging is a privilege, not everyone gets to do it”!!!!
I say this all the time ♥️

Thank you so much for mentioning that gua sha is the name of the technique and not actually those overpriced, oddly shaped rocks. As a Chinese American who knew about gua sha way, way, before it was trendy & would get it done by her traditional medicine-versed auntie with a comb that cost about $0.05, the cultural appropriation for profit has always bothered me so much.

I would much rather be like you instead of “that girl”. You are so kind, yet honest and real. Your message is amazing and all inclusive and I’m HERE FOR IT. Thank you for this wholesome content.. it’s rare ❤️

I got home from the local spa tonight and clicked on this SO FAST! Working towards creating a perfect, at home routine for my “that girl” lifestyle as a busy, broke mom😅

Being "that" girl is just an image. I don't think that, realistically, anyone can live that life 24/7. If anything, I feel like someone trying to live a "that" girl is just scrambling to manage a perfect life as a distraction from their other problems. (This isn't to say "that girl" is actually a mess, it's just a possibility.)

It's impossible to have a perfect routine at all times. Things happen in life that will affect us and cause us to stumble, to fall and affect our day to day life. It doesn't have to be related to our mental health, but perfection just doesn't exist. It's like you mentioned, there's a difference between having a consistent, healthy routine VS being obsessed with wanting a perfect, ideal life. What's important is to be forgiving of yourself because we can't always be up at 6AM, making our matcha lattes and doing pilates, etc. Sometimes, our studies or work will stress us out. Sometimes, we'll need a day off to snooze and relax. Not to mention, introverts and extraverts alone are completely different. Being the best version of yourself is the only thing important. None of us should strive to be "that girl" because it only creates more pressure for perfection.

Be yourself, but always strive to improve yourself, always strive to be better for yourself. That's all there should be to it.

I'm so glad that social media wasn't a thing until I was over 40. I shudder to think how crazy it would have made me when I was younger. And I have to say, extremely expensive skin care products..say over $50 for a container...are a hard pass for me, with very few exceptions. I can afford them, but, just no.

And NO GOOP PRODUCTS. EVER.

I want these girls to do what makes them happy, but I'm exhausted every day, and that's one thing I never see in an influencer.

After watching over a month's worth and dozens of your videos, I just want to say thank you! As a mature woman, I sure could have used this channel 30 years ago! I love the wealth of information.

I couldnt imagine thinking i needed all this stuff when i was a broke teenager. Its hard enough as a 23 yo with a full time job. Social media can be so toxic. Thanks Cassandra! ❤️❤️

I loved how you spoke about how your hands need to be part of your routine. I'm 52 and have been doing it since I was in my 30's.
