Αν και δεν έχει επιβεβαιωθεί επίσημα από την Κυπριακή κυβέρνηση, σύμφωνα με πληροφορίες από την έγκυρη Κυπριακή ειδησεογραφική ιστοσελίδα Η Καθημερινή της Κύπρου, το Κυπριακό υπουργείο Άμυνας προχώρησε και υπέγραψε με την Ισραηλινή πλευρά, την αγορά του αντιαεροπορικού συστήματος Iron Dome, το οποίο όπως είχε αναφερθεί εδώ και αρκετό χρονικό διάστημα, επιθυμούσε να αποκτήσει και να εντάξει στο οπλοστάσιο των Κυπριακών ενόπλων δυνάμεων, ώστε να ενισχύσει ακόμα περισσότερο την άμυνα της Μεγαλονήσου.
Για να ληφθεί βέβαια αυτή η απόφαση, υπήρξαν ευρείες συνομιλίες ανάμεσα στις δύο χώρες και έλεγχος του εν λόγω συστήματος από την Κυπριακή πλευρά, ώστε να είναι σίγουρη, ότι είναι αυτό που ζητάει για τη θωράκιση της αντιαεροπορικής της άμυνας.
Γι αυτό το λόγο, ενθυμούμαστε ότι στις αρχές Μαρτίου είχαμε αναφέρει, ότι ο Αρχηγός του Γενικού Επιτελείου της Κυπριακής Εθνοφρουράς, Αντιστράτηγος Δημόκριτος Ζερβάκης, είχε πραγματοποιήσει επίσκεψη στο Ισραήλ, όπου εκεί είδε από κοντά το Iron Dome.
To πήρε λοιπόν και αναμένουμε πλέον την επίσημη ανακοίνωση της Κυπριακής κυβέρνησης, καθώς ήδη ακούγονται τα κλάματα των Τούρκων στρατιωτικών στην Άγκυρα, που θα βλέπουν τα Bayraktar να πέφτουν σαν τις μύγες και που τα επεκτατικά τους σχέδια χαλάνε για άλλη μια φορά.

Although it has not been officially confirmed by the Cypriot government, according to information from the reliable Cypriot news website Kathimerini of Cyprus, the Cypriot Ministry of Defense went ahead and signed with the Israeli side, the purchase of the Iron Dome anti-aircraft system, which as had been reported for some time now, it wished to acquire and integrate into the arsenal of the Cypriot armed forces, in order to further strengthen the defense of the island.
In order for this decision to be made, there were extensive talks between the two countries and an inspection of the system in question by the Cypriot side, so be sure that it is what it is asking for its anti-aircraft defense.
For this reason, we recall that at the beginning of March we reported that the Chief of the General Staff of the Cyprus National Guard, Lieutenant General Dimokritos Zervakis, had visited Israel, where he saw the Iron Dome up close.
So it took it and we are now waiting for the official announcement of the Cypriot government, as we can already hear the cries of the Turkish military in Ankara, who will see the Bayraktars drop like flies and whose expansionist plans are ruined once again.
