Ran My 115 Etec for 6 years and I did take it in for warranty repair, on the tilt and trim, motor was flawless. Ran mine on XD100 only but I admit that is an expensive way to go. Wanted a little larger boat and sold her last year and wouldnt you know BRP broke up with me. Now I have a black motor, should have gotten the hammer or Zuke, hope she doesnt bite me in the ass.

What was the verdict on the worked bolts on a brand new motor?

ha ha. i have my boat in the shop to repower with the same motor. i hope mine is really brand new. thx for the vid

Have one of these on a 2012 Glastron gt 160, honestly surprised by how good it is. Im just a weekend pleasure boater. But I just don't trust BRP at all, and am swapping it out for a merc pro xs this year.

Nothing against that E-Tec or new outboard, but cost of living wise I could rebuild an OMC V4 crossflow or 60 degree looper V4 twice or almost 3 times of what an E-Tec goes for.
Recreational boating regarding new boats feels ever closer inching up in price to unobtainable for the US citizen's average net income after expenses.
It doesn't help that emissions requirements are starting to reach the point of the limits of what gasoline engines can do on fuel economy and emissions, making them ever so expensive as the years go by.

So, I'm having that motor installed as a replacement for a 20 year old 90 horse and I started wondering if the installer will connect to a computer and was curious what obvious issues I can expect.

I have this motor as well. Can anyone tell me if you can run the motor with a garden hose screwed into the flush portal, or is it necessary to put ear muffs on at the intake as is done here in this video?

Given that its an alloy boat, do you have to isolate the bolts to the hull so you don't get stray voltage leaking through the hull via the engine block? Nice looking boat.

This didn’t age well. Two stroke only? "I can’t believe they went belly up" said nobody.

Sad state, BRP just cold dumps in my personal use and opinion best motors the family has run! Once i cant rebuild i will just end my days on the big river! Was about to order a new all weld commercial boat and Evinrude! Then the Frogs of Quebec screwed up again!! French be it Canada or France cant manage or even win a war! Boycott BRP
