TESTED: Sims 4 Burglar Update + Bugs

Is it safe to update sims 4 to get burglars? Or will it result in broken gameplay? I review the last sims 4 base game update that includes burglars, alarms, tattoo customization- and tell you the newly reported bugs on Mac, windows/ pc, and console.

This does not include serious issues like the save corruption that is likely from sims 4 for rent expansion pack.

All of this comes ahead of the upcoming new sims 4 businesses and hobbies expansion pack.

I miss the tension that would come from burglars in the sims 2 and 3. They felt like a real threat, while the burglars in the sim 4 feel almost silly. I have a feeling that they will end up being annoying rather than a threat to your sims.

Oh man, my entire game is nuts. The retail system is not working, entirely. Cant age up toddlers, get stuck in a loop... And other stuff, just too much.. Meh, again. Also, couldn't care less for burglars when the entire thing is run by thieves lol.

When I actually play, I don't make my sims fight. However seeing the slap animations of the sims always cracks me up. Thanks for the reminder. LOL!

When I try to get my pet check up at the vet, there no sim working at the vet and it's really annoying!!

I’m so glad I didn’t update! I finally rebuilt my game after the last one was corrupted and I am not letting them mess this one up. At this point, EA should just leave TS4 alone before they break it further, and move on to developing another game.

It’s snowing and raining inside my sims house, sims freeze to death indoors, I had to turn seasons off entirely so I can’t use the content I paid for, infants deform if you try to pick them up, if you take a picture the game crashes, go from build to live mode and the game crashes and of course there’s the for rent game eating bug. I love this game despite everything but I feel it’s on the verge of collapsing and never working again

Thanks for your bug issues update, Erin. I've only started to play TS4 recently on PC and I haven't come across any of the issues you've mentioned in this video, yet. But it's a good thing E.A. is looking into these bugs and hopefully try to fix them.

Before update i decided eh i am going to play base game to test things out.

And lo and behold my game runs smoothly and loads up very fast proving that those dev teams yet again never play tested these things never bothered to properly bug fix and fact i can get my sim to do things without them standing still awkwardly and time going backwards made it clear that they really need to stop trying to add new packs.

They been supporting this game for 10 years and yet it still has problems still breaking apart and proving games as a service model (lets be real sims 4 has been ea most successful GAAS game they got) can't keep going forever if they keep ignoring problems and making more packs that keep adding up the cost

Your footage is the first I've seen where:
1) the police actually show up when the alarm goes off/they are called
2) a different looking burglar shows up (it looks like you had two different burglars) no other footage I've seen has had the burglar with the green hair.
I haven't updated my game and am most likely going to wait to avoid potential issues.

Thanks for the video. The guests not sleeping has been a thing for a while but maybe more people are noticing it. The dog fought off the burglar in Dr. Gluon's video so maybe it just works sometimes. I played with MCC and one or two other mods that were updated and luckily didn't notice anything major but when my sim fought the burglar I didn't get the stolen items back even though my sim won. I wonder if it's so easy to win the fight because the burglar doesn't have fitness skills either.
Last year I had a child age up to teen with a pregnancy bump but i fixed it in CAS. Never saw anyone else mention having that problem so I forgot about it honestly.

I've played only a little bit since the patch came out (mainly to get the special event completed.) So far, I haven't had any problems (except for really missing my MCCC and UI cheats mods, and all my CC.) One bug you did mention is that stay over guests didn't sleep in a bed. That's something that I believe has been in the game since sleep overs were first added. I know I've had that happen, but it didn't bother me since it didn't affect the Sims who belonged to my household.

As of yesterday, MCCC and UI cheats were updated, so I may play this afternoon (although I've got other things I may need to do and might not have time to play.) But then, for some reason I don't experience many of the bugs. (Except the annoying one where it scrolls all the way back to the animal aspiration when you open the aspiration panel, rather than staying at the aspiration the Sim currently has. Unfortunately, that doesn't seem to bother many players.)

I am thrilled that I can turn burglars off completely.

tbh, i'm over it. If they release an update and it has game breaking bugs I'm gonna play and then I will blame Sims team! Tired of defending them. They deserve the hate tbh.

I haven't updated. As much as I like getting stuff, it took me 2 days to rebuild my save because my lots weren't loading. And then this? Another update? Between their broken limited time events and their constant never not buggy updates, you can't catch a break. At this point, even though I've invested so much, it just seems better to have a pirated game so you don't keep getting "surprises" over and over.
Who would've thought keeping your game up to date is a constant risk? And a risk factor. We need more in this day and age, I need to stress about the possibility of losing my save file too, along real life stressors.

I was playing in an apartment in city living, no mods. Burgler came like 3rd night, no lot challenge. Called police, no show, and despite confronting the burgerler, they still stole my couch and computer. So...

I found the child sims looking pregnant today. I thought I had a broken mod. Guess I should have known better. 😂 The other issue I have been having is random items catching fire in my home. Happened after I finished the cursed book challenge.

My sim’s dog immediately had a route fail when the burglar appeared, then ignored them the rest of the time. I called the police multiple times and they never showed. And two of the three burglar visits I had my sim refused to “confront” just standing around watching instead. I couldn’t find a fight option. The burglar ignores locked doors and just waltzes right in anyway.

I created a werewolf and there’s just fur where their nose should be 😂

I'm on PS5 and the police never arrived when I called them, and my dog did nothing, so my sim had to fight the burglar. 😂
