Arts Centre Melbourne presents the Big World Up Close performance series, which showcases most compelling new works from across the globe.

The Fall is the final multi-award winning work of the series. Rising from the 2015 #RhodesMustFall student movement, this collaborative piece of theatre emerges from the heart of South Africa, written and performed by seven students who were involved in the uprising.

This movement signals an urgent call for decolonisation, in South Africa and across the globe. Now voices from local artists help unpack what decolonisation means today.

Came to this video via the national Union of Students.

Really not sure where i stand on this as an ethnic minority in this country born of a race created by colonisation. Proud of my history and to deny colonialism or it’s place in the United Kingdoms history/education/government would be to deny myself of my own history.

Very ill informed.

Interesting that she mentions "Palestine" needing to be decolonised. That situation is faaaar from as clearcut as Australia's. Hell, even South Africa's history is one of rival tribes conquering each other and screwing each other over. You want a "return" to that glorious past?
