It was nice that you mentioned the coding style, but I think instead of showing an amateur and a "cracked" solution, it would've been nice if you went for the first one and improved it further more by using f.ex. string concatenation. I think it's easier to learn from a good solution which works (maybe the one you mentioned at the end) than listening to tips and trying to implement them yourself if sb is maybe not that advanced.
