Asian moms mostly won't compliment us directly but secretly feel proud esp when her friends praise her daughters.
The reason is from the elders' teachings so we won't feel content enough that we lose our motivation yet we won't pressure ourselves too much. For children, we have to be aware & understand things w/o confirmation. Mostly misunderstanding happens when we seek the truth. Just watch wuxia/ancient dramas.
