Rhodes wildfires: Satellite images show fires continue to burn on Greek island

Thousands of people and tourists have been forced to flee homes, hotels and resorts as wildfires continue to take hold on the Greek islands.

New satellite imagery captured by Maxar Technologies showed the blazes burning in Rhodes.

Writing from the Dardanelles/Turkey. Dear people of Rhodes and all Greeks, as honest neighbors we send our absolute sadness and weep for your forests and wealth lost by the fires. We feel your sorrow as we are shaken by similar fires.

May our governments reduce their military spending to build much better fire protection forces, maybe even work cooperatively as we share the sea, the weather, the climate and the smoke of the dying forests.

Just know please, we are sorry to see this.

Interesting how come these climate fires always coincidently happen on popular places with large tourist crowds, and never on places where are no people to bother !

Minor factoid. Greece normally hires large Russian fire fighting aircraft to handle these big wildfires but they are not currently permitted to do so by the EU

Am sick of seeing how this has effected british holiday makers, i dont care about them what about the people of Greece, what about there homes crops jobs animals, the british are the least of the problem right now.
