Why Do The Baltic Countries Hate Russia?

They do not hate the country or its people, just the individuals in power. And even Russians living there are not in love with Putin.

The Balts have a complicated history with Russia, dating back to the Soviet occupation during the 20th century.

Many people in these countries experienced human rights abuses and suppression of their cultural heritage under Soviet rule.

Almost every family in the Baltic states was affected by Soviet occupation. Some were exiled to Siberia. Some had their wealth nationalized. Some had their relatives tortured or even murdered by the KGB.

A lot of these oppressions were done for totally minor stuff.
All three nations were determined to be exterminated and replaced by Russian population.

It was a humanitarian disaster. Three European states disappeared from the map.

Nowadays, it’s because Russia constantly threatens, invades and steals lands from neighbors.
It’s not only something it did historically, it is its current state policy.

A good examples are Moldova in 1992, Georgia in 2008, and Ukraine today.

And it would do the exact same thing to the Baltic countries or Poland and Romania,if they were not NATO members.

Not completely true. I've witnessed a Lithuanian restaurant owner refuse to let a Russian from Kaliningrad into his restaurant during open hours simply because he didn't like Russians. There is deep resentment there for any Russian because of what they went through during the Soviet years.

Hell, that's in any country. You go to most countries and you will find, the people are very friendly, nice people. It's the governments that are the problem.

My grandparents used to live in riga in the 70s. They told me that infrastructure and quality of life was much better than in cities like samara or vladivostok (rsfsr) so i think this video is an overexaggeration.

In Estonia we had brutal years 1941 and 1949. Our people were brutally tortured including my far generation relatives.😢

What did Russia do to Moldova in 1992? Transnistria declared its independence in 1990 and after that a military conflict began just between Moldova and Transnistria. In 1992 Russia intervened into that conflict just to stop it, and it did. Transnistria is almost all by itself. I've been there and I know it's history
