Markiplier is obsessed with art. If you listen to him talk about content creation you immediately get the feeling that he deeply cares for what he makes. He doesn't play video games because it's popular but because he loves the genre, which is why he has a whole series where he plays obscure indie horror games that caught his eye. He then consistantly uses his wealth to make bigger creative projects, including an upcoming movie based on an indie game he helped popularize and loved so much he just HAD to get in touch with the creator and start this project, which he wrote the script for/edited/acted in. His dedication to art is palpable in almost everything he does. He's the anti-MrBeast amongst the bigger youtubers. How dare chat bring him up as an example of youtubers "having" to be artlessly wired for success.

I think the closest analogy to Mr beast is Garfield. Gary Larson deliberately made Garfield not funny, but relatable. The goal with the Garfield comics wasn't any deeper narrative, but just a means to make as much money off of it and to keep it going for as long as possible.

I hope he doesn’t actually push himself to the point of breaking completely. This feels like it’s clearly some form a mental health issue, obviously fueled by wanting to be as viral and successful in a capitalistic sense as possible, but still. I don’t doubt at all that he’s actually as miserable as he says he is. Even the most money-hungry, clickbaiting content farms on YouTube don’t put this much effort into making their content end up like this. It’s actual capitalist brainrot in action.

In the greater lore of DKC, Donkey Kong gets his strength from the bananas, its why he tends to hoard them as he cant be a protector of his island without the insane strength he has. This is further reinforced by DK Jungle Beat (though one can rightly argue if its canon is dubious at best) as the bananas reflect his health meter for the boss fights.

K. Rool meanwhile steals the bananas to deprive not just DK of his strength but a important food source from the Kongs overall. We've seen what the Kemlings do; their home island was left horribly polluted before the events of DKC2 (and presumably DKC1) and DKC1 has the factory stages which show the Kremlings to be wasteful and destructive group. This is further reinforced by how the world Mekanos in DKC3 was a relatively recent addition to the Northern Kremisphere as of the time the game took place.

In short DK is just more or less taking natural vitamins and working out. K. Rool is by the games' portrayal a fascist seeking to stripmine resources to accumulate wealth and power for himself.
