Here is Mark's review of the Fisher F-Pulse Pinpointer including setup & Depth Testing. Mark puts the Fisher F-Pulse through several tests to compare it to other popular pinpointers. He will unbox it, set it up and show you how to program it. He then takes it out in the field for some testing to see if it interferes with popular metal detectors. He also compares the depth to another very popular pinpointer. Then back to treasure headquarters to give you his final thoughts. Everything you would ever need to know about the Fisher F-Pulse Pinpointer!

Liked your review. I use my F PULSE with my Nox 800, would not and could not hunt with out it. Had an issue with it after about 12 months, crappy spring which holds the batteries in. I returned it to FISHER in Elpaso Texas and they sent me a new one with the comments, we look AFTER OUR CUSTOMERS, thank you FISHER. and i live in australia

Just picked up one today. Just getting into detecting, and also have a Fisher 22. Works well with this detector, however I expected that given they are the same brand. Excited to get it into the field! Will make a video if I find anything cool.

I have compared the F-Pulse to the Garret carrot, XPMI4, Minelab 35 & Nokta Pulse Dive The F-Pulse Built like a tank And goes Deeper than any one I've compared Nice to know it verifies the target in the ground I've been using it exclusively with the Nokta Legend with absolutely no issues quiet as a mouse Best Pinpointer I've ever used And I have a nice collection Sorry it didn't work out with your detectors Nice video thanks

To answer your question, PI technology was chosen for the F-Pulse because it's a fairly easy design, it goes deep, and it does well in salt water. Many pinpointers (like the Garrett) are not really VLF; they run at a VLF frequency (like 12kHz) but they use a proximity technology which is akin to the old BFO tech. The reason the F-Pulse interferes with the Minelab PI is because the Minelab uses a multi-period TX pulse and you can't cancel both channels at the same time. It's similar with multifrequency detectors although with some the frequency offset is effective. This brings up another point: interference often depends on the exact pinpointer and the exact detector being used, because each one has slight variances in operating frequencies. This is true regardless of the pinpointer. Finally, 2-AA batteries are cheaper and easier to buy than a 9V, and actually have more energy (watt-hours) than a 9V. The F-Pulse has a shorter battery life because it is a higher-power pinpointer. If you turn set it to the lowest sensitivity, battery life improves.

I gave my Garrett pinpointers away after I got my F-Pulse. I have used it on both of my Equinox detectors for years without any interference.
Extra-depth has saved me from sliding my shovel across many treasures.
You have to realize that those multi-frequency machines have the ability to change frequencies slightly too.
Find a decent channel on the pinpointer then while it's still on let the metal detector also search for a clean channel.

I just used my cabelas pts on this making it free and can't wait to try it out. I don't have an expensive MD so this will definitely help with depth and pinpointing

Hi mark. I've been trying to decide between the F-Pulse and the Pro Find 35 for gold hunting up here in Montana. I've seen videos in which the P-F 35 can detect tiny gold nuggets...but I haven't been able to find similar tests with the F-Pulse. In your experience how do the two compare at finding gold in the sort of 6 shot nugget size? Any help would be hugely appreciated...thanks.

I have the Technics Tek-Pointer, rebranded FPulse with some minor software changes (12 frequences). Zero interference with the new Equinox 900 in multifrequency. Blew me away with depth ability, .22cal mushroomed bullet at 11" from surface of wet clay/loam soil. Great tool with a fussy program menu. Prefer the +/- buttons for sensitivity change. No tip protection available, that I can find.

As far as cross talk does the fpulse still work? How often do you use the pinpointer at the same time? Not often

I was wondering if the f-pulse that you tested was new and improved? Its seems like the only instances of interference is your testing. Is it possible you can do a quick retest with the newest version?

It's ok with my f75 but interferes using my nox, mind you the minelab profind 35 does aswell .If you point the coill of your detector to the side making it further away and drop the detectors sensitivity it improves .I use an XP mi4 with the nox with no problem at all

Hi Mark,
Have you tried this pinpointer with the Manticore? Curious to know your thoughts before purchasing. Always used the whites trx but unfortunately can’t get them anymore.
Thanks Paul
