Agalia (Embrace) - Official Music Video - Stelios Kyriakidis

This piece is quite special to me as it marked a new musical direction. Written in 2020 and released in 2022 as part of the Agalia EP, it signified a change in my writing from a more classical style to a blend of classical, folk and minimalist elements. More importantly, to a style that has always imagery and storytelling in mind.

During the time of writing, I was going through several changes in my life. This piece just emerged out of an improvisation, providing an outlet for me to express all the emotions felt as well as a way out, a way to a calmer, more settled state.

Guitarist and composer Stelios Kyriakidis had his music featured on BBC Radio and regularly broadcast ever since. His music for guitar is a blend of all his varied influences such as neoclassical, folk and cinematic music. The Minor7th magazine stated that “Stelios has a delightful way of creating bright, shimmering melodies that you want to hear again”. An active performer in places ranging from intimate venues to outdoor settings and festivals, Stelios has performed in the UK as well as internationally in the USA, Germany and Greece. With three EPs to date, his debut full-length album “508 Days” has been released in October 2023. One of the pieces, I’ll Split Mine With You, has been included in the compilation CD ‘Guitar Tenderness’, released in Japan by Inpartmaint records.
