One point to clarify:Hackers and Exploiters are completely different. Hackers can reveal personal info and PERMANENTLY alter games, whereas Exploiters basically enter code to access the game, temporarily changing it. Exploiters can also use the code to their advantage (such as auto catch in football games).

I have 3 theories for why prison life stopped making updates:
(1) the creator passed away
(2) the creator discontinued the game, without ever announcing it on dev forums, nor even the game title
(3) the creator was so lazy that he had to take a humongous, very very long break.
