I'm a Drum n Bass DJ. I use four channels in all of my mixes. Mostly because I hold my mixes for multiple minutes at a time, and I also use a lot of double and triple drops. So four channels is a must for my DJ sets. This looks like the perfect controller for me.

A new firmware update has just been released that fixes the Auto Tempo Issue with the beat fx. The beat fx will now mirror the bpm of the selected deck on Serato DJ Pro!🤙🏼🤙🏼

Crossfader can be controlled through Serato. No need to shut down the controller.

Thanks Mr. P, excellent video. Very helpful in pointing out real life pros and cons for DJ’s liking to purchase this. I appreciate your honest review and your perspective as mobile DJ.

you could do mini map, for de fader and choose any knob you want .. like channel 3or 4 .

You can midi map the loop section so you’re not dependent on the shift button. There’s a video on YouTube explaining it so check it out👍🏼

If Pioneer make a mk2 version of this or the original 1000, I hope they put some good new features on it. Personally I’d like to see a master balance knob & in the fx section a tap button & a timing knob. On their djm mixers you can hold down the tap button & twist the time knob to set the fx to any bpm you want. Also the time knob is great when you get to the very small increments of the echo... you can really make it squeal! Great vid by the way!

Excellent review of the SRT-1000, you hit some great points, cons and pros, and yes that is a great suggestion to incorporate the S9 mixer with it, I currently have Pioneer SZ2, Sx2, Sr, Rane 12’s with Pioneer S9 Mixer. Great comment about the beat effects and not reading the bpm of the song because it’s programmed scale is 80 bpm and higher

5:00 I'm pretty sure you can control the crossfader in serato's settings panel.

u can switch xfader curve in Serato settings too

but yo regarding the BeatFX tempo issue: someone needs to open up a ticket in Pioneer Forum, let the dev team know so they can implement a fix in next firmware update

I midi mapped my loop buttons so now its the conventional way, mapped my echo out to the quantize button bc i never use it and the only complaint i have is the xfader adjustment.

You can adjust the fader inside Serato settings.

11:15 as a drum n bass dj (170+bpm) i thumbed u down for even suggesting they "nerf" the range down just to suit u, instead of increasing from the minimum range.

When I load a song onto deck 1 (left side), and press the first pad to cue the song, it does not turn red. It does so on deck 2 (right side), but not the left. Do you know what could cause this?

I did just purchase and connect the DDJ-XP2 to it, could that have anything to do with it?

If they came out with the one based on the S9 I’ll get one

Coming from a DDJ-SR, bought all Serato FX, would stack up to 6 Serato FX to multiple decks post fader, would you recommend this? I'm torn between Roland DJ-808 or this, and I love the jog wheels but unsure im taking a step backwards for the jogwheels
