Networking Technologies for ISPs

Over the years ISPs have asked my help in configuring their network devices for various scenarios. In this series I will explain the problems, dilemmas and other theoretical aspects of these issues.

There will be a linking practical explanation of the technologies explaining how they work and are to be configures and how you can leverage the best for your network out of them.

Today's topic is of Network Redundancy
Why do we need network redundancy? What are the protocols available with us? What advantages do one of these have over others? Are all protocols compatible with all the vendors? We look and answer these questions to simplify the things for everyone to understand, we also go through some best practices that one should follow to make our networks really work.
