During the tour, Xi briefed the visiting couple on the history, architecture and culture of the museum, noting its importance to Chinese history and culture. I love how he looked at him unbelievablely for two seconds there and then laughs and says that’s great. Just like a true American movie scene.

Australian : We call ourselves the descendants of British prisoners. Scott Morrison found his ancestor's criminal record in UK during G7 meeting.

In ancient Chinese history literature and ancient myths, , after tribe leader Huang defeated other tribes and unified most tribes in that region (core areas of Chinese civilisation), he used the totem dragon (not the Western ones with wings and dinosaurs-like depicted in their mythology). That’s one of the reason Chinese called themselves as ‘descendants of the dragon’ (representing Emperor Huang, the first ‘emperor’ of a ‘unified country’ in the modern sense)
Records of those periods could only be found in ancient Chinese literature (there were no written language until many many years later, so information about that period was just passed on to the next generation by oral words), so it was second-hand… but if you kind of believe in the very very ancient Chinese history books (that started to collect/record the ancient stories), then Emperor Huang’s period dated back to around 2711 BC. And before this ‘first emperor’ ‘formed’ a ‘unified country’ (prototype of China), there were already tribes living in that area (coined China later), so it could be older than 4700 years.
That’s why President Xi said the age of (a unified) Chinese civilisation was 5000 years old.
