At the northern end of South America is Colombia, and in its capital Bogota, at the junction of 26th Street with Avenue of the Americas, is a majestic sculpture. donated by the government of Venezuela to Colombia in 1975 as a gesture of brotherhood and unity. This sculpture has the name Ala Solar, by the master Alejandro Otero.

In 2015, the National Center for Historical Memory (CNMH) and the Colombian Society of Architects held the International Architectural Design Competition of the National Museum of Memory, whose winning proposal was that presented by the firms MGP Arquitectura y Urbanismo (Colombia) and Estudio Entresitio (Spain), who were also in charge of the development of the project. The winning proposal is titled between Heaven and Earth and proposes an integrated tour of the capital's landscape.
