My poles dont have the lip on the lock mechanism. It just slides up or down. No lock. Cant adjust. Help!

Do you know how to change the lower shaft of these poles. I can get the spare lower but wanted to see how to change it first before I made a purchase. Thanks!

My FLZ distance poles no longer lock in place well because it seems like the inner cord is too tight. I've tried twisting the little black thing at the lower segment but it doesn't lengthen the cord enough - sometimes you can't even see the padlock symbol and the release button because it's covered up by the handle section. If you do struggle to stretch it out to full length to get it to lock, then that release button is so hard to push in that you need a screwdriver or something very hard to depress it to unfold. Please help me.
