I'm revisiting this video today, Sunday Nov. 17, 2024, and BTC is at $90, 200. MSTR closed Friday, Nov. 15, 2024, at $340.65. That would be a pre-split price of $3, 406.50, close to the theoretical estimate James gave @8:01 for a BTC value of $300k. In hindsight, the model was not bullish enough.

James, great content as always. I've also bought MSTR as a BTC proxy and that has worked well so far. What do you think the impact of the new GAAP rules for digital assets for corporate accounting (ie mark at fair value) will be? I'm guessing more companies will start holding some amount of BTC in their treasuries and if so does that dilute MSTR as a proxy for BTC?

The other reason not mentioned for etf not being negative for mstr is that btc will invariably go up with etf which by definition will make mstr go up. It’s possible that mstr doesn’t go up as much as btc does as a percentage given potentially other options
