As I’ve grown older, I’ve come to love the New York slice, but there is something about the old tavern cut Columbus style that just brings me back to a comfort place and reminds me of my childhood. Pizza house, Dante’s, lido’s so many great hole in the wall spots that do it so well.

That crunch sounds delicious. These old places are the best. I've worked at one in STL on The Hill. The pots and pans are pitted from the tomato sauce and most of the kitchen utensils and implements have home made handles because they're 100 years old and you can't buy them any longer.

A quick google search shows that Romeo Siri and brothers Dan and Jim Massucci are often credited with creating Columbus-style pizza. So obviously there is some dispute over who invented it.

Some of the best pizza in Columbus and a great family, my brother worked for one of the sons I believe who lives right behind parents in Bexley and he’s always very cordial… definitely a place to try if you’re in Columbus.
