It was in 1983 that I started listening to, Dr. Charles F. Stanley, preach/teach the gospel. I'm not sure what prompted me to do so, but during the first sermon I ever listened to, he managed to bring out something in the scriptures that had eluded me up to that point. I had read the passages he preached on many times before, but had never really got the message behind them so vividely...so completely. I saw and understood some things I had not fully recognized before! So the very next week I tuned into 'In Touch Ministries' again, and the very same thing happened...to my astonishment! Yes, it surprised me how something came out of his sermon that I hadn't 'so clearly' seen before!
It's been 38 years now, and I've only missed a handful of Dr. Stanley's sermons in all these years! I'm just gonna say, he continues to be Full of very welcome surprises! I've found myself thinking down through the years, after listening to his most current sermon... "How can Dr. Stanley ever top this one?!" But, just like with this sermon - Your Convictions About The Crucifixion Of Jesus Christ - he has done it yet again!
When I think about it, I suppose he really isn't "topping" his previous sermons, but simply continuing to bring out more and more truths of the Word of God, so that I'm blessed in continually learning something new and afresh!
I think I will express it this way: At 85 years of age, Dr. Charles F. Stanley is still an exciting pastor to Me, and I feel I owe him a huge debt of gratitude!
