The Ultimate Local Experience In BANGKOK 🇹🇭 (Escape The Tourists)

In this video, I take you along as I experience my first-ever Port FC match in Bangkok, where they go head-to-head with Chiang Rai. The atmosphere around the stadium was electric even before the game, with fans gathering for a classic tailgate. I indulged in some delicious local Thai food from the street vendors around the stadium, which added to the authentic pre-match vibe.

During the event, I had the chance to meet up with @BangkokPat and @globaltravelmate two well-known figures in the Bangkok expat scene. It was great to connect with them and share in the excitement of the game. The match itself was intense, with every moment keeping us on the edge of our seats, showcasing the passion that Port FC fans have for their team.

To top off an already incredible night, we headed to a music festival right after the game, which was the perfect way to celebrate. The energy of the crowd, the music, and the thrill of the match combined to make this the best night I've had in Bangkok. Join me as I relive every moment of this unforgettable experience!

I'm the third generation Port FC fan. My grandfather was a retired forklift foreman of Port Authority of Thailand. So, this is our family's team. Madame Pang aka. Khun Nuanpan Lamsam was the owner of the club for the better part of the last 15 years. She was the one who invested in the club immensely. She's been there through thick and thin with the team. We won some cups and then were relegated to division 1 and bouced back to become the serious title contender for the past 3 season. Though she is no longer the owner since she had to resign to become the president of The Football Association of Thailand, we are still fond of her so much.

I remember 25 years ago, first time in BKK. As soon as any taxi driver knew I was Italian, it was a flood of questions about Roberto Baggio. Back then I had no Idea how much Thais loved 🦶⚽

BangkokPat : Great Channel 👍👍

I was there last December with my son and brother and had the best evening out during my 2 weeks in Thailand. The build up to the game with beers and food, the atmosphere inside the stadium and there was plenty of foreigners with their home British shirts on which is always a great way to start conversations/disagreements. We stood behind the other goal from you, and just behind the Ultras who didn’t stop their songs and drumming throughout. The quality of the football was not the best but fair play to all the players for playing at full speed in the humidity. Despite being 2-0 up at half time, Port FC lost the game 2-3. Really recommend a watch and hopefully there’s another home game next year in April when I next visit. 💪

Madam Pang is the owner of the club and their chairwoman. She has invested a lot in the club. I think she is also in the Thai FA.
I am a BG fan, who play in Prathum Thani. Always a great atmosphere at thai football and so family friendly

Never had a chance to attend a match in Bangkok, but did in Rayong. Good vibes and legit talent on the pitch. I did visit Buriram's stadium during off season. Would love to see a match there.

I've had that experience a couple of times, one of them watching the Thai national team in the King's Cup and the other watching a ChonBuri Fc game against Bangkok United. Amazing atmosphere, amazing people, great supporters... Loved it!!! Thai people is amazing.

Been twice to Port FC's matches. One thing worth mentioning is the public transport is less than ideal as the closest metro stop is still a 15 walk away (and there is no close BTS stop) so it's easiest to get a Grab bike when you exit the metro station (Khlong Toei or Queen Sirikit)

Great VDO Paddy! I live in Pathum Thani so I follow Bangkok Glass Pathum Thani United. Been to a few games and throughly enjoy it. Also as my son plays at the BG academy and was picked to walk on with the senior team a few weeks ago! Such a thrill for him and me! Maybe see you at one of the games with Port FC plays BG one day! Us Brits have to get our football fix somehow! 😂

PADDY I love this video! Finding hidden places that are less touristy is genuinely special and I’ll be coming to Thailand again in September! If you see this, I’d love to link up and meet you! Been watching your channel for a while and you’ve inspired me to make my own channel for traveling and what not. Keep up the amazing content. Cheers 🍻!

Bangkok Pats face at 18.26 when you shout that you’ve got the beers, compared to 18.31 when he realises he hasn’t got one 😅😅😅
