The Empress: CP 2816 - CPKC Final Spike Tour Preview

On April 26th 2024, Canadian Pacific 4-6-4 #2816 embarked on the trip of a lifetime. Over 76 days the steam locomotive known as "The Empress" ran from Calgary to Mexico City and back over the newly formed CPKC railway. It traveled over 8,000 miles: starting in Canada, passing through the United States, and finally arriving in Mexico. After festivities in Mexico City, "The Empress" headed back north with the special returning to Calgary on July 10th.
This is an in-depth preview, but just a small portion of the video I shot, as I followed the Empress for over 3,300 miles during 13 days of operation, plus some of the display days along the way. The entire video is available as a 3 DVD/Blu-ray set, or as a digital download/streaming video on Vimeo.
