Is Sony WH1000-XM3 a good buy in 2022?

Had mine for 3.5 years and just gave them a refresh by replacing the battery and earpads for $37. Back to 30 hour battery life and clean and comfortable earpads. These headphones are amazing and here's to another 3.5 years! No more being a slave to constant tech upgrades! Definitely gotten my money's worth with them.

Guys, this is literally the best headphones you can have now for the price. No issue at all sound quality is perfect. Use them only for music.

I bought XM3’ at the start of January 2022, at about half the price of the XM4’s (not a small price difference). I don’t regret my purchase. They’re very comfortable, with excellent ANC and sound better than others at a similar price. I think the case is fine, but agree it’s a pain that I have to disconnect Bluetooth for one device before I can connect to another. Still, the price difference makes it worth that bother - XM4’s would be beyond my budget.

The xm3 is actually better. Mode bluetooth codecs, and better noise cancelling for higher pitched sounds. Also, cheaper.

Personally I'd wait until the xm5's come out in august which will drop the xm3's even more in price.

I, too, love my XM3 headphones - as others have said, the only issue is the fact that they can only be paired to one device, and maybe the lack of Bluetooth 5?

What headphones would you recommend me to get for under 4k? I'm fine with it being wired/wireless and second-hands are welcome as they almost always provide better audio quality than new headphones.

I actually prefer the sound on the xm3. The xm4 are muddy as hell. I heard the xm5 sound better

I have the Sennheiser Momentum 4's as my daily driver. They might be the best wireless headphones under 400EUR when it comes to sound quality. But I picked up a pair of XM3's second hand for only 80EUR. They are very nice to use outdoors etc and I don't have to be as careful as I do with the Sennheisers.

Xm3 is worth it. I bought xm4 and I know their differences are minimal.

I got a pair. Maybe they were defective. Sound quality poor and I could not work out how to use them with a pc and the app. If you have big ears they may not fit.

Does anyone else get deep indents in their pads after the first wear? I feel like i'm wearing them wrong or something. The ones shown hear are look good as new.
