Update from Dr Akram Hussain, AiT Chair | September 2024

RCGP have consulted with Associate in Training members and key stakeholders on a new name to replace Associate in Training. This follows calls from our AiT community to adopt language that avoids confusion and adequately recognises their status as a qualified doctor.

Following the consultation, the term Associate in Training (AiT) will be replaced by GP Registrar.

Despite this change, individual’s status as an associate member of the RCGP will not be altered.

The change will be implemented across all RCGP communications as soon as possible.
