In yet another alarming incident, buses with Himachal Pradesh number plates were vandalized on Saturday morning at the Amritsar Bus Stand, allegedly by Pro-Khalistan elements. The miscreants spray-painted the word ‘Khalistan’ in black on the buses and smashed their windows. The incident was discovered by bus drivers and conductors, who immediately informed the authorities and the police.

Following the incident, HRTC bus drivers have refused to operate services in Punjab until their safety is assured. Dr. Nipun Jindal, Managing Director of HRTC, stated that this is a “very serious matter.” He highlighted that despite earlier requests to the Punjab government for increased security, such incidents continue to happen, raising significant concerns.

The Station House Officer (SHO) of Rambagh Police Station stated that information is being collected, and full details will be shared soon.
