Planets are round because of the process of planetary differentiation .

Planets are formed from different materials that have different densities and compositions. Over time, heat and pressure from the planet's formation cause the heavier materials to sink to the center and the lighter materials to rise to the surface. This makes the planet's shape symmetrical and round, because the materials want to spread out evenly in all directions.
