Israel is expected to launch a military response to the Iran missile attack soon, and it continues to conduct ground operations and launch airstrikes against Hezbollah in Lebanon (including in Beirut). Also yesterday Israel announced it killed Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar in Gaza. Fears of a regional war are growing. Iran on October 1 launched around 200 missiles at Israel in a major attack. It is anticipated that Israel will in the near future carry out a significant response on Iran. Meanwhile, more Israeli airstrikes on Hezbollah in Lebanon are being reported (including in the Beirut area) and there are also reports of ground clashes between Israel and Hezbollah as Israel continues its ground invasion (which Israel is calling limited). In return, Hezbollah is launching rockets and drones at Israel. Israel is also stepping up operations in Gaza, and on Wednesday it killed Yahya Sinwar, the leader of Hamas. There are worries the situation could escalate into a wider war bringing in other nations.
