I find it a bit sad that the Java version had to go, I really liked a lot of their minigames. I personally think that Java is much better for hosting mass servers because in general, it runs better. But Bedrock is still nice to play with friends because of the cross platform.

Had the best TTT minigame with the traitor tester and the fact the innocents could actually kill the murderer if they caught them

"bedrock is the future of Minecraft" The day Mojang fully stops supporting Java is the day they lose 80% of their playerbase and the day Minecraft truely dies.

People aren't super keen with changes in the latest version meaning their favorite mods aren't working again, but they are also patient and know that, because it is still java, eventually the mods will update for the new version. The moment you take that away, mods and such, you remove a major reason a huge chunk of fans still play.

The Bedrock Edition is the future of minecraft... Yeah sure. It was introduced years ago and still is way worse then Java. Mojang said years ago that transitioning everything to bedrock is the long term goal, however everyone who can still plays java edition. This was never actually followed by actions to discontinue java.

Also:
Just getting rid of the whole java community makes so much less sense then just running one edition, for example: Because 1.8.9 runs best on hypixel skyblock, everyone uses it, showing that people can and will adapt.
The money argument does make the most sense here, however taking about a split playerbase and then throwing them all out makes no sense.

that's dumb they should have removed a version instead of removing literally all versions

I just discovered that the Java Edition shut down and I'm really sad about this. I never got to reach King of Dance and I was pretty close to it, and I had many points in Hide and Seek too. I also spent YEARS on this server, I'm so sad...

I have a question, why did they shut it down for Java if they coudl've just put that we won't be able to use 1.8 or the other way around anymore, they lost many more players due to shutting it down for Java, than that they would have if they'd just remove 1.8 from the system

yknow, they couldve just used one verson. sure, theyd lose a chunk of the playerbase, but atleast they wouldve kept a decent amount.

Hello I really liked this video but I as a Java server owner just want to clarify some things so miss information doesn’t spread.
You do not need to have different servers for different versions of Minecraft. To allow different versions of mc you use a plugin called
via-version and you can still use the new block for building and via-version will swap them out for players that are on Minecraft versions that the block doesn’t exist. But yes there is a real problem with the community being split between 1.8 and 1.9.

But you are right about it being allot cheaper to host a bedrock server than hosting a Java. I have 3 servers connected with bungeecord and it costs me 45$ a month.

Love the video

bedrock is not the future of minecraft lol there are so many differences between java and bedrock version that some jave players will never switch (like me) you have so much stuff in java that bedrock just doesn't support (mods, shaders etc)

I always used to play on bedrock edition, and playing on the hive was something that I liked doing a lot of the time. When I saw that menu saying The Hive had shut down I was quite sad, I still remember when the bedrock edition only had three servers, I believe they were deathrun, hide and seek, and skywars or something like that.
