Cardo PackTalk Bluetooth Headset Review

The Cardo PackTalk Headset is, simply put, one of the most powerful Bluetooth motorcycle helmet headsets that the industry has seen to-date. In utilizing the revolutionary dual-core wireless technology, the Pack Talk from Cardo provides one of the most stable and wide-ranging communication networks available. This power is on full display with the Dynamic Meshwork Communication (DMC), which has been specifically designed to offer the absolute best in large group intercom connectivity. Great sound quality with high-definition 3.5mm speakers, Bluetooth 4.0, and a variety of other features all come together to make the PackTalk one of the best in the business.

My group's been using these for a couple months now, DMC is hands-down the best thing out there. Great video, I would just add that you don't HAVE to use these for big groups! Even with 3 people DMC is better than Bluetooth as there is no weak link. We literally just power then up and it just works. Brilliant. (Note: I've used almost every Bluetooth headset available at this point- this is the best solution for connectivity hands down.)

My only gripe against the scala palk talk is: If someone calls you in heavy traffic its very hard to answer the call via pushing the button due to the unit being on the same side as the hand that controls the clutch(would prefer if it was on the other side), 2nd gripe is the antenna on the helmet sometimes comes up as it is on a spring to force it open (even if you put it down and lock it in place it will still come up sometimes) and when you put your helmet down and you can risk breaking the antenna off (happened to me so i taped it down and leave it)

The pack talk speakers are very good quality and they are loud.

Hello, RevZilla! I love your reviews and you did a fantastic job outlining the details of this system. My main hesitation in getting a Bluetooth system is the quality of the sound and the volume of the speakers. I know you said these get "loud enough", but I am not sure exactly what that means. I'm not expecting concert quality sound inside of my helmet, but at highway speeds (I take lots of long trips) is the volume "loud enough" and is the sound quality worth listening to? I really appreciate your input. Thank you.

Thank you for the review. Question for you. If you connect to an older or not the same device via bluetooth would everyone be able to talk with that person using only bluetooth? thank you

Awesome Video! Are Packtalk sets purely for communication or can you also record to your phone in the app. (I.E for moto vlogging)

For the DMC to work in a group, does everyone have to have a CARDO PACKTALK BOLD, or does it compensate for other brands, and blue tooth capable ones in the group whilst doing the DAISY CHAIN connections?

Is this still a good option now (February 2020)? They can be purchased new for around $150. This unit has even more features than I need but it seems so solid. Any advice?

Thanks for the great review. Could you pair it with a Sena SPH10 Bluetooth Helmetless Headset Intercom for communications with a person in a car? If you have an alternate suggestion for this purpose I would be <ahem> all ears...

Hi, I get this is a very advanced device when we talk about intercom systems, but I still don’t have very clear how it works using only Bluetooth for example if I ride with 2 other bikes any the have non Cardo devices, would it be possible ? How does that connectivity work with non Cardo units or units that doesn’t have DMC ? Thank you very much for your answer !!

What about a comparison or preference video between this device and the Sena one? I am preparing to purchase again (my old Sena is done for and out of warranty), and it's a toss up between this or Sena again. Thoughts?

Does this have the voice control, or is that only available on the newer versions?

Looking for something like this but also be able to intercom several others who are on regular BT of other brands like Sena 20S. Will this unit do that?

Are the speakers good enough or would you recommend aftermarket speakers?

Hi. To use DMC does every rider need to have a Bluetooth set that also have the DMC function?

How do you think, does it make sense to change our Sena 20S headsets to this Cardo PackTalk headset? Usually ride connected with 3-6 riders. What about intercom sound quality, distance and usability comparing these two brands?

Can I hook my GoPro 4 silver or drift ghost s into this comms system to record my voice while recording on the camera, like a Sena 20s.

Do you think I would need this model just for 2 bikes only or is there another option

Hi, currently torn between the cardo packtalk and the sena. At this moment in time, has the software on the cardo been smoothed out yet?

How does it work with half helmets?  I have read the included boom mic is not long enough?
