No reason the nfl should still be playing on turf, it’s causing so many unnecessary injuries every season and has taken many careers

Player safety has never really been their #1 concern

We played tackle football on turf when I was a kid, it was called concrete then.

In highschool and college every single time we played on turf I got injured, which was a significant amount bc I played soccer and football ( in Louisiana it’s rare to have high schools with dedicated fields) even in “turf cleats “. Not saying I was on their level but hearing so many pros speak out against turf years after gives me the peace of mind that it wasn’t just something I made up in my head. Also found out most nfl non contact injuries have happen on turf

When I was younger all we played on was grass and whenever we got the chance to play on turf it was exciting cuz it felt like we made it lol to a degree, I never knew turf was worse than grass that's interesting

Players should require ALL teams to have grass fields through collective bargaining

Playing on turf is like playing on concrete with carpet on it. ACL and Achilles tears been going up and up

Giants are finally switching to grass next year. They lead the league in acl and meniscus tears.

My school played on grass which would turn to mud and snow by November.
I always loved when we played road games on turf.

....I dig this conversation; new grass is sooo minimal in comparison to the damage turf does to the players🤦🏾‍♀️

Even though I was trying to do more cardio in my 30s by running on pavement with my dog, I was always getting hurt after a few days. I switched to running on grass in the park and my joints feel like I'm in high school again lol.

The league has too much god damn money to be making these dudes play on turf. It’s shredding ACL’s, knees, toes, hips, ankles, and backs across the league and shortening careers unnecessarily
