Video projected during the Italian SABIR festival on Mediterranean cultures which took place this year in the city Matera from May 12 to 14, 2022.
Every human that moves from place to place has past stories behind it and future stories ahead of it to build.
Each person has a story, written day after day and marked by their life experiences. The TrasMigrAzione project aims to give voice to these stories. People become real archives, which in this poetic form can be told to those who want to listen to them. In a society fragmented by ethnic, cultural and religious differences, the first step to overcoming diversity is to know it. Beyond mistrust, the foundations of more inclusive and cohesive communities can be created, and a safe space can be created to get to know each other without taboos, breaking down prejudices.
This installation was an invitation to enter elsewhere and look, through an opening in the tent, at different points of view on Western culture.
The tent is a symbol of travel, precariousness, temporary housing.
