This is absolutely adorable. My daughter is our youngest child and mommies little “baby”. She had been refusing to learn to ride a bike without training wheels and she turned 8 in April. I told mommy enough was enough. Sometimes as a man you have to be the bad guy and force things to happen. I took her out despite the protest from my daughter and wife. I sat her on that bike and started pushing. I told her if she didn’t peddle and try to stay up she was going to hit the ground hard. It took 2 pushes and she was off. She hasn’t stopped since. My boys were easy (I have 3 boys I taught to ride too) but pushing my daughter to face her fears, watching her confidence grow, watching her realize there was reward in facing her fears. Just one of my proudest moments as a dad. When I watched her peddle across the yard right in front of my wife and stay up and saw that massive smile I plucked her out of that bike seat and held her up and told her how proud and excited I was that she finally rode a bike. The excitement and look on her face. It was just one of those moments you never forget as a parent. It makes me sad at the same time though. All of our kids are growing now. I’ve taught my last child to ride. The wife is fixed. We raised 5 in total between us (I had a previous son and her a previous daughter that were both 1 and 2 when we met then 3 together), now we are getting older and our kids will be grown soon. It breaks my heart. I hope when my boys grow old I am as proud of them as you are of your boy out there fighting fires.

Good to see a kid outside, getting muddy and enjoying the day instead of glued to a screen. When i was a kid, i was hardly ever inside.

That bike is awesome. Man... I wish that kinda thing existed when I was a kid. I had a little PW 50, but I could never ride around past dark because it was too loud. Having an electric one would've been amazing... and I'd probably have gotten into 1000% more shenanigans being able to ride around silently
