My brain: "pet him, it's just a big fluffy ferret"
Also my brain: "he is pretty scary"

We have these in Poland too. Had one climbing our roof trying to get to a sparrow nest and ended up screeching me awake right outside my window. Cute but scary

This feels like inspiration for how they made a few quests in Skyrim

I have a problem Marten living in my roof and I played your video pressed against the ceiling. She heard the distress calls and I hope she gets the idea that I want her to quit our home and leave.

Rob, great video, any advice on the bait, and the timing to get the bait in, frequency of changing the bait etc...?

What is the brand name of your cage trap? I want to buy one. I don't know if I can in the US though.

Did it ever come back? Some animals have a basic instinct to get to the original home, just wondering if Martens tend to return? Great video BTW.

I've seen martens trotting through my own backyard in the suburbs several times during summer season (though not pine martens but beech martens). Once I even found one hidding up a tree. It really was a privilage getting to see one of nature's cutest killing machines in the flesh, multiple times at that.

Haha, the release at the end was funny to watch... Man, I guess they are basically mini wolverines. Vicious. Cool footage.

Well done! That was a good thing to do. Removing the marten without harming it and releasing it back to its home

Yes. Please open with intergalactic caution. Those things seem very much to me, to be a bear, a wolverine, a tiger, fox, sable, and a f*cking hyena all wrapped in 1 tiny body, perfectly balanced.

It is a pretty silly trap that is so difficult to open. I saw your other video as well, and you are a nice person who just wants your shed left alone, but do not want to harm the marten. Pine martens can find it hard to find a nice place to den, and your shed is probably warm and inviting. You might lose the fight anyway. You could try to put up a marten-box for it, away from your house.

I heard that applying taser shocks to the cage helps calm him down.
