I'm still trying to understand why alien species would be hostile to each other, since they're all at a safe distance from each other.
It's not hard to understand why we don't pick up immensely powerful transmissions from alien civilizations. They'd just be a ridiculously expensive and futile way of saying; "Reply and say hello to our distant descendents!".

Hi, I’m fairly positive ETs will not be (are not) aggressive.
I think the aliens or unknown identities we hear about are understandably probably afraid of our military’s aggressiveness as shown by the UAPs they have downed.
