Moderna announces positive Phase 1 trial data for coronavirus vaccine

The biotech firm Moderna Therapeutics announced that the first eight participants in the Phase 1 of its COVID-19 vaccine trial developed some antibodies after a single dose. Moderna is now expected to start a second round of clinical trials as soon as next month. Dr. David Agus joined "CBS This Morning" to explain the development and the latest in the race for a vaccine.

I am 50% lucky. My mom Helen missed the Spanish flu by 5 months in 1919. Her sister Eleanor got the flu in 1918 and died. My dad Ellery was 4 in 1918...his dad Charles was 29. They visited Buffalo NY a few times in 1918 and never got the Spanish flu!

To develop a vaccine by predicting the kind of covid-19 viruses to be replicated in an individual is impossible due to high mutation of the virus. Because the antibody or antibodies we used for the production of the vaccine against the covid-19 is not seemed to be effective for the newly replicated covid-19 RNAs with different structures.
