A GUID (Globally Unique Identifier) is an ideal choice for the Primary Key of a record. This video shows how you can easily build a Grid Component on a table that has a GUID as its primary key. The video demonstrates how you can assign the GUID value to the primary key field in the new records that you create in the Grid Component. The video shows how a SQL table is used, but the technique applies equally well to native Alpha Anywhere .dbf tables.
