Fsntastic year 1970. I have flipped back a decade from 1980. 1970 way far better than 1980. Although some great songs out of 80. Blondie the nolans and Police and Bryan Ferry. Thank you for uploading taking time to do this.

just goes to show you that great music stands the test of time. I was 7 in 1970. Really too you young to enjoy this music, but now, I recognize about 95% of these songs because they are still played today, in 2023.

Some real classics in there and a lot of variety with soul, heavy rock, reggae, bubblegum pop and classy MOR. 1970 was an excellent year for the charts!

Many classic tunes in 1970. Question by the Moody Blues was only kept off the top of the charts by the England song, Back Home.
A cool story by one-hit wonder, Norman Greenbaum about Spirit In The Sky. He said he and his band set up to play in a smallish venue somewhere in the States not long after the big number 1 smash. They opened up with Spirit In The Sky to really get the crowd up. They got a great ovation, then they began their next song. The crowd went quiet. A few minutes later as they started another, the crowd began booing and shouting for them to stop. They stopped. Norman shrugged and asked them what the problem was. Just play Spirit In The Sky they all cried. But we've already done that, he pleaded. But they weren't having it, insisting that they just sing Spirit In The Sky - non-stop for the rest of the show.
So for the rest of the show, they did a 40 MINUTE version of Spirit In The Sky and the place rocked.

I was 8 in 1970! ... I don't remember much about it, except that myself and my brothers "played out" a LOT! ... Unlike the kids of today, we were hardly ever home! ... And, I don't remember EVER watching TV in the 60's, but I started watching around 1971, aged 9. I remember Jon Pertwee as Doctor Who, Timeslip, and Coronation Street!
