Asus Zenbook UX305UA review - a 13.3 inch affordable ultrabook

This is our detailed review of the Asus Zenbook UX305UA all-metal ultrabook. It comes with a Core i7 processor, 8 GB of RAM, an M2 S-ATA and a gorgeous 13.3 inch IPS QHD display (3200 x 1600 pixels). It's a very well built ultrabook that runs mostly cool, but is noisy even in everyday use, as the fan gets rather loud when it kicks in.

just bought the i7 skylake qhd version today.
initially i was worried about the screen quality and i thought the bezels were quite big compared to the xps 13 for example.

though now that i have it, none of those seems like an issue at all.
the display looks really sharp and the bezels are not as bad as i thought they were in the video reviews.

it boots really fast, in fact, it boots just as fast, if not even faster than my $3.5k desktop pc.
it doesnt get hot, the fan is audible but nothing unordinary.

i always liked the fact that asus has managed to design their charger without the need for a power adapter. instead, it almost looks like a regular smartphone charger.


overall, im happy with the choice ive made so far, it works, and looks just about perfect.

i'm trying to find some flaws with it to report but for me, there arent any at this moment.
i mean, ive noticed its quite the finger print magnet, both the chasis and the keyboard, and that it comes with some asus bloatware installed (macaffe etc)

i was on the hunt for a 13" laptop for quite some time. after considering the xps 13 with the same specs (which would cost almost $600 usd more than i paid for the zenbook) a macbook a yoga and many more, im more than happy with the choice ive made.

if i had to make the choice again, i would buy it with no doubt.

I'm getting a laptop for uni (computer science) and I want to know should I choose this or the XPS 13 with the lower end i5 6200?? I would rather the XPS's screen and quite frankly my last laptop was made by Asus and the build quality was appalling....

I have this laptop. The battery life is great! I just hate that video editing software and also Photoshop looks very small! The whole application has tiny fonts and haven't found a way to fix it :/
