Just finished the second season. What a show! I like hearing James Franco mentioning Martin Scorsese because from the 1st episode it's obvious that Martin had a big influence in the direction of the show. With that said, the show gives you so many _"The Wire"_ vibes (with its producer being behind The Deuce also) and that's why I loved it! The viewing of the different sides of the society (e.g. thugs, cops, press, etc.) was truly at the level of The Wire! Last but not least, the whole cast was wonderful but James Franco was absolutely mesmerizing! Killer performance!

I enjoyed the character of Vincent a lot but to me the brightest light on The Deuce is Maggie Gyllenhaal. She has long been an actress who's taken chances but her role of Candy shows a bravery I haven't seen in Hollywood before. I'm so proud of her.
