Ke Huy Quan's comeback is a true Hollywood story, and I couldn't be happier for the guy. Loved Short Round as a kid and love the man he grew up to be.

Man, they should’ve brought him back for Indy 4. Imagine older Indy taking a role similar to his dad, with Short Round grown up and being the one to do more of the physical stuff, and basically studying in the field under Indy. I know Ke Huy Quan was retired from acting after not finding any roles for Asian actors, but I would’ve loved if he came back for it. And given his love for Harrison, I think he would’ve. Idk, it’s the alternate universe I wish we could live in.

I am so happy to see this photo. What was even better is when Ke Huy Quan won his Oscar as one of the actors in Everything, Everywhere, All at Once, Harrison was the one to hand him his Oscar. Ke is such a genuinely happy, gracious, and lovely person. Full circle back to where it all began for him, with the man it began with.

So in the Indiana Jones expanded universe, Indy got Short Round into Oxford university after the Temple of Doom adventure, and later on in life, Short Round himself actually became an Archaeologist that helped Indiana Jones from time to time. Why they didn’t pass the torch to him, I’ll never know. He’s easily one of the most likeable characters in the entire series because of how loyal, funny and competent he was.
