Excellent homily, and as some one who is disgusted at the roll out of what I hypothesized in 1999 of what will happens to humans with the cell phone, and when the 'smart' device came out? I was depressed because I foresaw this. And your homily is a DIRECT explanation on why people go days with out hearing their name, having eye contact, etc. I went on FB (as a nurse, Catholic, agape loving person who was offering unpopular help, but no one really wanted to be friends, they just wanted to take and I have no problem with that as I know the purpose of my love and giving, however, I am human too and I AM the one, that one....feeling it since I don't participate in that 'smart' device, scroll-a-thon YouTube, short, nonstop 'entertainment' clips that dumb down, numb up and make attention span smaller than it already is, as planned-emic), and it would take months for any one to find me if I was daed in my house (which happened in 2020, but people did know since I was able to call out for help just before) -- it is SAD and unacceptable. This isn't about me. I spent decades being a nurse, LOVING that it was't about me...I'm "just saying, " I know.... and it's isolating. Especially when so called christians, devout catholics much like those in the comment section who are "praising God" and all these props....they're not gettin it. Thank you for spelling it out and may people be inspired to do the necessary changes to improve and love better.
