The group Gibraltarians For A Multilingual Society say a conference in Vigo has strengthened their view that our community needs to think we are failing our children and grandchildren if we do not bring them up as multilingual speakers.

The event in north west Spain brought together researchers from Spanish, British, Swiss, Dutch, German and Italian universities, with Gibraltarian writers, podcasters and linguists.

Manuel Enriles told Radio Gibraltar one of the discussions was about the unique way Gibraltarians speak English.
