One of the deepest karstic lakes in the world. There are no fish. The longest glacier in Europe. The underwater landscape of the lake strikes with originality: once a huge cave, today sunken by an earthquake leads to dangerous depths, waterfalls of downstream algae, a dead forest of old tree trunks resting on the stony slopes as if northern moss overgrown. 260 meters deep, the second deepest karst springs in the world. The water temperature is 8-9 degrees celsius all year round, and the lake does not freeze during winter months.
