New COVID-19 notification app rolls out in Ontario

What a useless story, they don’t tell you the name of the app or explain clearly what it does, the health minister only made it more confusing, my gosh at CBC they have one job to do - communicate a story clearly and concisely it’s mind boggling that they can’t seem to do this.

...then it will be mandatory if you want to fly again.
....then it will be mandatory if you want to leave the province.
...then it will be manditory if you want access to gyms.
...then it will be mandatory if you want to go to the mall.
....then it will be mandatory if you want groceries.
...then it will be mandatory if you want to work.
...then it will be mandatory if you want to leave your house.
...then it will be mandatory if you want to have visitors to your house.
...then it won't be optional anymore.

Rinse and repeat for mandatory testing and vaccines. This is already the case for facemasks.

If we're all going to argue about this app...well maybe question the integrity of the cellphone service in the first place. Did you already consider the potential likelihood of your phone already sending valuable data to FB, google, snapchat, IG to be used for other things such as ads and content you choose to see? We are probably already getting tracked in the first place from other services we've signed up for. As a result, an arguement over a covid-19 app used to track positive cases to prevent spread doesn't really seem productive.
